Help us raise funds for eskrima practitioners in the Philippines
At the 10th WEKAF and 2nd Doce Pares World Championships in Cebu, Philippines last July 2008, we have encountered talented Filipino eskrima practitioners from Manila, Cebu and General Santos. Some of them have traveled to Cebu only to compete without having proper training due to lack of equipment. Some of them have come to Cebu without having enough budget for accommodation, having to live at a construction site for over a week. Inspite of these, they have brought back medals to their hometowns, giving us more good reason to help our fellow eskrimadors. We are asking for your financial help to raise funds for our less fortunate brothers and sisters. All they need for now are training equipment such as armours (headgear, body protector, gloves and armpads) and some rattan training sticks. The 11th WEKAF World Championships will be held in Mexico in 2010. We are hoping to also raise funds for this event for the competitors from Manila, Cebu, General Santos and our own London group. We cannot guarantee that we can meet our target but we will do our best with your help. For the meantime, we will focus on the training equipment.
